REGENERATIVE INJECTION THERAPY
Regenerative Medicine in Dallas-Fort Worth
At Foundation Physicians Group, we offer Regenerative injection therapy (RIT), a treatment for chronic pain caused by unhealed injuries around cartilage, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. The RIT uses your body’s natural process to heal damaged tissue. RIT replicates the normal, tissue-healing process by injecting a substance into the tissue that stimulates your body’s natural ability to heal. RIT is useful in treating repetitive stress injuries that never have sufficient time to heal appropriately or completely. RIT not only bridges a critical gap in conventional treatments, it also can offer relief to individuals suffering from conditions that previously had little chance for an effective treatment.

Injuries and conditions commonly treated by RIT procedures include:
- Achilles tendonitis
- ACL injuries
- Biceps tendinosis
- Golfer’s elbow
- Iliotibial band syndrome
- Ligament injuries
- Osteoarthritis
- Rotator cuff injuries
- Sports injuries
- Tennis elbow

To grow the tissue graft, we draw your blood and place it in a special centrifuge machine. This machine creates a tissue graft of platelets, rich in growth factors and inflammatory mediators essential for healing wounds. Because the PRP graft contains six times the concentration of your own platelets and growth factors, it helps accelerate tissue repair and regeneration. Most patients require two to three injections every six to eight weeks.
To determine if you are a candidate for RIT, a complete history and physical exam will be done. We will perform lab tests, ultrasound evaluation, X-rays, CT scans, and MRI’s. The joint, tendon, and ligaments are evaluated and the site of damage or degeneration is determined. A detailed orthopedic physical exam is the most significant part of any evaluation.
Once the injection is complete, it launches the healing cascade, leading to deposition of new organized collagen and cartilage and restoration of ligament, tendon, and joint health and function. An average patient requires 4-6 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart. When cell-based therapies are used fewer treatment spaced further apart are the norm. PRP injections can be performed in tendons and ligaments all over the body. Carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, and
